I Want To & I Will Lose Weight — by djEnterprises
Last Updated: July 16, 2026
djEnterprises ("we," "us," or "our") operates the I Want To & I Will Lose Weight mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy describes how we handle information in connection with your use of the App. The short version: the App is built on-device first. Your meals, weigh-ins, progress photos, and plan live on your iPhone. We have no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party trackers, and we never sell your data. When you scan a meal, its photo is sent for a one-time calorie estimate and then discarded — nothing about your health goes with it.
1. What We Collect, and Where It Lives
On your device only (this never leaves your phone unless you turn on an optional feature below):
- Your meals, calories, and macros; your daily calorie budget and "promise" streak.
- Weigh-ins and the weight trend.
- Progress photos — stored on your device (and in your own private iCloud if you enable sync). They are never uploaded to us and never sent to the AI.
- Your first name (from Sign in with Apple, if you use it) and your app preferences. Your name stays on your device — it is never sent to our servers.
2. Information Sent Off the Device
Data leaves your device only in these specific cases:
- Meal scanning (the AI feature) — when you scan a meal by photo, or describe it in words, we send that photo or text through our processing server to Anthropic's Claude API for a one-time calorie and nutrition estimate. Along with it we send only your app version, your language, whether you are a Pro subscriber, and a random per-install device identifier used to prevent abuse and rate-limit the service. We do not send your name, your location, your weight, your Apple Health data, or any other personal information — just the food. The photo is analyzed once and discarded; we do not store meal photos on our servers. You can log any meal by barcode or by hand instead, which sends nothing.
- Barcode lookups — when you scan a product barcode, we query the Open Food Facts open database for that product's nutrition facts. Only the barcode number is sent.
- Sign in with Apple (to Apple) — if you choose it, this authenticates you. We receive a name and an Apple relay email, never your password and never your real email unless you choose to share it. This identity stays on your device.
- Subscriptions (to Apple via StoreKit) — purchases, trials, and restores are handled entirely by Apple. We never see your payment details.
- iCloud Sync — your meals, plan, water, streak, and progress photos mirror to your own private iCloud (CloudKit) database under your Apple ID, so your log survives a lost phone. This is Apple's encrypted infrastructure under your account; we cannot read it, and nothing is stored on our servers. Your weigh-ins and workouts are deliberately excluded and never leave your device — Apple's rules do not allow Health data to be copied to iCloud, and we follow that.
- Apple Health (off by default, opt-in, two-way) — if you connect Apple Health, we read your workouts, active energy, and weight so exercise can earn calories back and your weight trend stays current, and — only if you allow it — we save the meals and weigh-ins you log in the App back to Apple Health. We only add your own entries; we never change or delete anything else in Health. Your Apple Health data is never sent to our servers, never sent to the AI, never copied to iCloud, never used for advertising or data mining, and never shared with any third party.
- App Store version check (to Apple) — on launch the App asks Apple's public catalog whether a newer version exists. This sends only the app's identifier — no personal data.
3. What We Do Not Do
- No analytics SDKs, advertising SDKs, or third-party crash reporters.
- No tracking across apps or websites. We do not request the IDFA, and the device identifier we use for rate-limiting is never used for advertising or shared with anyone.
- No sale or sharing of personal data with data brokers — ever.
- We build no advertising profiles.
4. AI Processing
The meal-scanning feature is powered by Anthropic's Claude API, reached through our processing server. Anthropic acts solely as a data processor for this App and does not train its models on content submitted through its API. Anthropic automatically deletes API inputs and outputs within 30 days, retaining content longer only where flagged for Usage Policy violations or required by law, as described in its Privacy Policy and Commercial Terms. Our own processing server forwards your request and the reply; it does not retain your meal photos or their contents.
We have confirmed that each third party with whom the App shares data provides the same or equal protection of that data as stated in this policy. No other third party receives your data, and we never sell or rent any user data.
Your consent — and how to revoke it. The meal-scanning feature only sends data when you choose to use it, and the App discloses this and asks for your consent before the first scan. Sending happens only when you tap to analyze a meal — so you can stop all AI data sharing at any time simply by logging meals with the barcode scanner or by hand instead. Apple Health is opt-in and can be disconnected at any time.
5. Your Choices and Rights
- Erase everything — Settings → Erase all my data deletes your meals, weigh-ins, progress photos, and plan from your device and from your private iCloud.
- Turn features off — Apple Health is opt-in and can be disconnected at any time in the Health app. Decline the AI consent and you can still use the whole App by barcode and manual logging.
6. Children
I Want To & I Will is intended for a general adult audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
7. Not Medical Advice
I Want To & I Will is an informational and self-tracking tool — not a medical device and not a substitute for professional medical advice. Calorie counts are estimates, and your calorie budget is calculated from the standard Mifflin-St Jeor equation using the height, weight, age, sex, and activity level you enter. It does not diagnose or treat any condition. Talk to your doctor about what is right for you.
8. Security
Your data lives on your device and, if you opt in, in your own private iCloud. All network communication uses HTTPS. Our Anthropic API key lives only in secure server environment variables, never in the App.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes are posted here with an updated date.
