djEnterprises ("we," "us," or "our") makes the Keepsake mobile application (the "App"). Keepsake helps you record a loved one's life story in their own voice and turn it into a beautifully designed memoir. This Privacy Policy explains how Keepsake handles your information. The short version: the voice recordings stay on your iPhone and are never uploaded; there is no account to create; and Keepsake has no analytics, no advertising, no third-party trackers, and no location, health, or contacts access. The one time any story content leaves your device is the optional AI writing feature: if you turn it on and ask for the memoir to be written, only the typed transcript — not the audio — is sent securely to generate the prose (see §4–§5). We never sell your data.

1. No Account, No Sign-Up

Keepsake works without any account. There is no Sign in with Apple, no email collection, no login, and no user profile. You simply open the App and begin. Because there is no account, there is no personal identifier tying your content to you on any server of ours.

2. The Recordings — Microphone Access, and Where the Audio Lives

To capture a life story, Keepsake asks for microphone access the first time you tap to record — never before. When your loved one speaks, the audio is saved only on your iPhone, inside the App's private storage. The audio recordings are never uploaded to us or to anyone else — they stay on your device so you keep the sound of their voice. You can play them back, and delete them, entirely on the device.

3. On-Device Transcription

Keepsake turns each recorded answer into text using Apple's on-device speech recognition. This transcription happens on your iPhone. You can edit any transcript, and the original wording is kept so their real words are preserved.

4. The Optional AI Writing Feature (with Your Explicit Consent)

Keepsake can weave the answers into flowing memoir prose using AI. This is optional, and you consent to it explicitly in the App before anything is ever sent. When you enable "Use AI to help write the memoir" and then choose to have a chapter written, only the typed transcript of that chapter's answers is sent securely to our writing service and to Anthropic's Claude API to generate the prose. The audio itself is never sent. If you never enable this feature, the App sends no story content off your device at all. You can turn the feature off at any time in Settings.

5. AI Processing

If you use the optional AI writing feature, the transcript text is processed by Anthropic's Claude API, reached through our own isolated processing server. Anthropic acts solely as our data processor. Under its commercial API terms, Anthropic does not train its models on data submitted through the API, and it automatically deletes API inputs and outputs within 30 days. Our API key lives only in secure server environment variables — never in the App. We have confirmed that each third party with whom the App shares user data provides the same or equal protection of user data as described in this policy. We never sell or rent any user data.

6. Photos You Add

You can optionally add photos to a chapter or as a cover portrait. Photos you choose are stored only on your device and are included in the memoir book you create. They are not uploaded to us.

7. The Book You Make

When you create the memoir, Keepsake composes a print-ready PDF on your device. Sharing, saving, or printing that PDF happens only when you ask, through your device's standard share sheet, to the destination you choose. The one-time "Make the Book" unlock is handled entirely by Apple via StoreKit — we never see your payment details.

8. What We Do Not Do

  • No analytics SDKs, advertising SDKs, or third-party crash reporters.
  • No tracking across apps or websites. We do not request the IDFA.
  • No accounts, logins, or profiles.
  • No location, health, or contacts access.
  • No sale or sharing of personal data with data brokers — ever.

9. Your Data, Your Control

  • Edit anything — every transcript is editable, so you decide exactly what the memoir says.
  • Delete everything — Settings includes "Delete everything," which permanently removes all recordings, transcripts, photos, and the story from your device.
  • Deleting the App also removes all of its stored data from your device.

10. Children

Keepsake is a general-audience app intended for adults capturing and preserving family life stories. It is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from children.

11. Security

Your recordings and transcripts are stored in the App's private, sandboxed storage on your device. Because your audio stays on the device, the most important protection is simply that it never leaves. For the optional AI writing feature that does use the network, all communication uses HTTPS, and no service key is ever stored in the App.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes are posted here with an updated date, and material changes will be surfaced in the App.
