djEnterprises ("we," "us," or "our") operates the Heist HQ mobile application, our AI-powered companion app for a popular open-world crime game (the "App"). This Privacy Policy describes exactly what information the App handles, how it is collected, every way it is used, who receives it, and the controls you have. The short version: we require no account, we never sell your data or use it to track you, and nothing is sent to the AI service until you explicitly consent in the App.
1. Information the App Collects and Processes
The App's core feature is an AI chat assistant ("Aether"). When — and only when — you use the chat after giving consent, the following is transmitted off your device:
- Your chat messages — the questions you type, and the questions you speak using the optional voice-input feature (the transcribed text of your speech is sent the same way as typed text).
- Your recent conversation history — your recent chat messages are re-sent with each new question so the AI can follow the conversation, including messages from earlier sessions you continue.
- Remembered profile details — optional facts you have shared with Aether (such as your first name, gaming platform, story progress, and playstyle preferences) are stored on your device and included with each request so Aether can personalize replies. Providing your name is optional.
- App context and chat settings — which section of the App you asked from (for example, a guide section), and your chat preferences (such as gaming platform, spoiler, and AI personality/tone settings), used to shape the reply.
How this is collected: you type or dictate it in the chat, or enter it during optional onboarding. Nothing is transmitted to the AI service before you tap Agree & Continue on the in-app consent screen, which is shown before your first chat.
The App does not collect: your email address or phone number, your location, device identifiers or advertising identifiers, account credentials (no account exists), usage analytics, or payment information (all purchases are handled entirely by Apple).
Our relay server keeps standard, short-lived technical request logs (IP address, timestamp, and message token counts for security and cost monitoring). The content of your messages is never written to our server's logs and is not stored on our servers.
2. How That Information Is Used — All Uses
- Generating AI replies — your message, recent history, remembered profile details, and chat settings are used solely to produce the answer you asked for.
- Personalization — remembered profile details let Aether greet you by name (if provided) and tailor answers to your platform and progress. They are stored only on your device.
- Service protection — technical request logs are used to prevent abuse and monitor service costs.
There are no other uses. We do not use your data for advertising, tracking, profiling, analytics, or sale to anyone.
3. Who Receives Your Data — Third-Party Services
When you use the AI chat, your message travels from the App to our relay server, and from there to Anthropic, which generates the reply:
- Anthropic (Claude API) — receives and processes your chat messages, conversation history, and remembered profile details to generate replies. Anthropic acts solely as a data processor for this App and does not train its models on content submitted through its API. Anthropic automatically deletes API inputs and outputs within 30 days, retaining content longer only where flagged for Usage Policy violations or required by law, as described in its Privacy Policy and Commercial Terms.
- Apple — handles your App Store purchase (we never see payment details). If you use voice input, your speech is transcribed by Apple's speech-recognition service, which may process audio on Apple's servers under Apple's Privacy Policy.
- Railway — hosts our relay server. Railway provides infrastructure only and does not access or process your personal data on our behalf.
We have confirmed that each third party with whom the App shares user data provides the same or equal protection of user data as stated in this policy. No other third party receives your data, and we never sell or rent any user data.
4. Your Consent — and How to Revoke It
Before your first chat message is sent, the App shows a consent screen that explains what is sent and who receives it. Nothing is transmitted to the AI service until you tap Agree & Continue. Declining keeps every other feature of the App fully usable.
You can revoke consent at any time in Settings → Reset AI Data Consent. After resetting, the App will show the disclosure again and will not send anything to the AI service unless you agree again.
5. Data Retention and Deletion
- djEnterprises servers — your message content is processed transiently to relay your request and is not retained after the reply is delivered. Technical request logs (no message content) are kept briefly for security and cost monitoring.
- Anthropic — see Section 3; API content is not used for training and is automatically deleted within 30 days.
- Your device — conversation history, remembered profile details, and preferences are stored locally. Delete them anytime in Settings (Reset Chat History, Clear AI Memory) or by uninstalling the App.
There is no account to delete because no account is ever created.
6. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us and we will take prompt action.
7. Security
All communication between the App, our relay server, and Anthropic uses HTTPS encryption. Our Anthropic API key is never stored in the App — it lives only in secure environment variables on our server. We follow industry-standard security practices in our infrastructure.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
